Plymouth Lions Hockey Club

We are thrilled to announce the merger of two of Plymouth's most historic hockey clubs – Old Plymothian and Mannameadian and Plymouth Marjon Hockey Club uniting to create a home for hockey players of all ages and abilities.

This new chapter will bring incredible opportunities for everyone, from budding juniors to seasoned veterans, uniting players across all skill levels under one vibrant banner. Whether you're just picking up a stick or pushing for elite competition, our combined forces will offer unrivaled coaching, facilities, and a shared passion for hockey.

Together, we’re creating a true hockey family where there’s a place for everyone, from grassroots development to performance pathways. Expect more fun, more teams, and even bigger ambitions as we grow the game we love in Plymouth!

Our Teams

Plymouth Lions Hockey Club prides itself on being an inclusive, family friendly club running teams from Under 6 through to Men's and Women’s Masters sides. As a club we aim to offer both competitive and social hockey for all alongside a thriving junior section. Through the summer the club has a number of teams playing within the Plymouth Mixed Summer League so we can offer hockey all year round!

Mens

We run five men’s teams from a competitive 1st team through to a development side where new and returning players can grow in confidence.

Our men’s players train on a Tuesday night 7pm till 8:30pm at Marjons University. Masters hockey is available for 35 and over

Womens

We run five women’s teams from a competitive 1st team through to a development side where new and returning players can grow in confidence.

Our women train on a Wednesday 7pm to 9:00pm
at the Plymouth Marjon Hockey Centre. We also run a masters team for over 35’s & 45’s who play in the EH Master’s Cup

Juniors

We run two junior clubs catering for the foundation
through to year 9

OPM Pumas train on a Wed 6pm - 7pm at Plymouth College Astro.

PLHC train on Thursdays 6.15 - 7.30 (Yr 4 - Yr Yr9) and Sundays 9.30 - 11.00 (Rec to Yr 9).

We do offer Friday night hockey fortnightly for under 8’s to under 14’s and Devon Festivals.

About Plymouth Lions Hockey Club

Plymouth Lions Hockey Club is one of the largest in the South West running teams from U8s through to Masters, in total over 25 teams. With over 250 members the club is based at Plymouth Marjon Hockey Centre.

The Team has been formed with the successful merger of Plymouth Marjon and OPM Hockey clubs who have over 20 years experience in the Plymouth hockey scene

We offer structured training sessions for all teams led by external and internal coaches. We offer bespoke goalkeeper training, and high performance sessions for both Women and men.

We have an active and thriving junior section, from under 8 to under 18 for boys and girls. They have opportunities to train at the weekends and midweek with the chance to play in local leagues and national competitions.
